Try Going Sailing Together for a Fun Date Idea
One fun date idea is to take your date sailing. If you live near the water, there are many opportunities for fun and exciting dates. Sailing is a romantic activity by its very nature. If you can arrange to go sailing in the late afternoon or early evening, the colors of the sky and the softer lighting will make it that much more romantic. 
If you have your own boat, being the skipper of your own vessel can be extremely attractive. If you don't have one, there are generally plenty available to rent in any coastal area. When you take a date sailing, there are a number of things you should do to prepare for the date. Make sure there are enough lifejackets onboard in case of an emergency. Drowning is probably not as romantic as the movie Titanic made it seem. Also, make sure you know what the weather has in store for you. If there's a storm on the horizon, the trip should be postponed. Great dates don't generally include a storm-tossed sea or being drenched with rain. When packing for the date, be sure to bring a cooler along. Have plenty of cold drinks available for your date. If you'll be out for more than a couple of hours, you should also have some type of snacks on board. Bringing some extra sunscreen is also a thoughtful touch. Have a warm blanket on board for windy days. Even a hot day can call for a blanket when the boat is moving quickly and the wind is causing your date to shiver. If you have planned your sailing trip during the dinner hours, you will probably be expected to bring dinner along. Making your date miss eating dinner is not going to make them feel terribly romantic. Remember that a hungry date is a cranky date. A fun date idea is to bring a picnic basket full of food or you can get take-out from a local restaurant to bring along.
